School Visits
Having an author visit your school is a great way to excite students for reading and writing. I have been in all sorts of classrooms ranging from as young as 1st grade to as old as college seniors. From past visits, I notice students leave inspired to create their own stories and motivated to read simply for fun and not for "homework". Students who meet an author in person are exposed to the idea that writing is a career available to anyone willing to put in the work, and this can inspire them to pursue their own goals, no matter how unlikely they currently seem.
I offer three types of events. Each of these events can be tailored to fit the grade level and or age of the student.
Each presentation is 45 minutes to an hour long

(Best for k-3rd grade)
I explore the serious topic of bullying and its dangers by reading a carefully selected book—either from a list I provide or a choice from the school's collection. I share insights into my own journey of writing about bullying, aiming to inspire empathy and understanding. To reinforce this learning, students will enjoy a creative coloring activity that encourages reflection and expression.

A dynamic writing workshop designed to captivate students and transform them into budding authors. Through engaging prompts, students will embark on a creative journey, crafting their own unique stories and discovering the joy of storytelling.
Using your story to tell a story

(Suitable for all Gades)
a TED Talk-style presentation where I delve into the critical issue of bullying and its profound dangers. I share my personal journey with bullying, exploring how it became a powerful catalyst for my writing. Through this narrative, I inspire the audience to harness their own experiences, channeling them into meaningful creative pursuits

If you would like to purchase books in bulk prior to an event please email me to let me know and a discount will be applied based on the amount of books purchased.
The students can also purchase books through me via a book order form that I provide to the school prior to the visit.
